HIPs and new builds

A HIP is required for newly built properties, although there is a slight difference in respect of the Energy Performance Certificate.

New homes marketed "off-plan" before they are physically complete will not have a full Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) as these can only be produced following a physical inspection of a completed building. In these cases, the HIP will contain a Predicted Energy Assessment (PEA).

Whitehead Monckton can offer new build developers the opportunity to have their HIP compiled for free if we conduct their residential conveyancing. Not only that, we can also arrange for one of our preferred energy inspectors to carry out the PEA and the EPC, saving more money!
